This is real

I'm meeting this week in Seattle with Janice to choreograph the transition. Jim suggested she begin to join me on our bi-monthly check-ins. Other ideas?

I dreamed I was piloting a big boat last nite and the windshield was covered with closed blinds. Someone to my right was giving me directions and I slammed into the pier because I couldn't judge the distance. I promise I will open the blinds before I hand Janice the wheel!

  1. I like Jim's suggestion about having Janice join the bi-monthly check-ins. Including her in our conversations would be helpful for her own transition as well. It also takes the pressure off of you having to bring her up to speed on everything and then you can turn off that voice that's telling you what to do.

Regarding boats, piers, etc. According to my dream interpretation book, a boat would symbolize your life and a dock seen from aboard a ship/boat means a surprising turn of events is on the way (obviously so since your just crashed a boat into it). As long as no one drowned it's a good omen. The book also says that seeing pirates would be an especially good sign. (Next time I suggest including Johnny Depp in your dream. He is a very good pirate).

  2. Vera cracks me up. Thank you for that.
Speaking of dreams....mine last night involved quicksand and I didn't stand a chance. I just got back from vacation - pretty straightforward interpretation I suppose.
Jackie - you are being so deliberate that no matter the crash there will always be someone next to you to help.
I like the idea of Janice joining calls and the idea for the roll-up she is planning on for Mike. I was longing for an in person tem meeting but realize that there will be chances to be together naturally this year so I'm [mostly] off that kick. For our team calls perhaps there's an agenda item related to transition - a key question, a critical topic, anticipation/angst addressed, etc... I know we always have an open forum for that so formalizing it might not be necessary, it's just a thought.
